Dani Glidewell graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a master’s degree in biology—specializing in limnology—and dual bachelor’s degrees in professional writing and biology. Her writing degree focused on science fiction and fantasy. Her master’s research focused on algal toxins and science communication.
She is now a full-time technical editor with Bayer Crop Sciences. Previously, she was an instructor of introductory biology at the University of Oklahoma, where she shared her love of science by teaching her students how to design experiments, interpret data, and communicate their results in writing.
Her early writing, editing, and research experience included an editorial internship with the editor in chief of Limnology and Oceanography, the flagship journal for the Association of the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography. She studied science communication with the award-winning author Mary Anna Evans and has worked with the award-winning author Kyle Harper on an as-yet unpublished book.
Dani started Glidewell Edits to bring together her passions for science and fiction. She believes that clear communication is vital to the continued growth of humanity’s collective knowledge, and that a language barrier is a pointlessly artificial obstacle to place between good work and effective communication. She is delighted to help writers of all types realize their visions and communicate their findings in the clearest possible voice.
She currently lives in Norman, Oklahoma with one turtle, three dogs, four lizards, and eleven adorable tarantulas.
